Putting Your Best Brow Forward

Keeping your brows beautiful!

After your brows have healed, it is imperative that you take care of them to help keep the color retention.  Microblading aftercare is a critical step in preserving your new brows between annual touch-ups.  Using sunscreen is one of the most important things that you can do for your newly microbladed brows!  It is a good habit to use sunscreen on a daily basis anyway, so make sure that you include your brows when applying sunscreen to your face helps to prevent premature fading.  Keep in mind that your color will fade over time, but you don’t want to speed it up by skipping sunscreen.

I love my new brows!

Now that you’ve fallen in love with your new brows, you will want to make sure that they don’t fade prematurely.  Therefore, you will want to avoid the following things if possible.

  1. Sunbathing (protect your brows with sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, etc.)
  2. Light therapies
  3. Chemical Peels and Laser Peels
  4. Fruit Acids
  5. Microdermabrasions

Of course expecting you to ditch your regular facials might be asking too much.  So ask your esthetician to avoid your brows, if you plan on getting facials, peels, or microdermabrasion.

Microblading is considered semi-permanent makeup. The pigments will fade naturally over time . Factors such as skin type, vitamin deficiency, life style, pigment color (lighter colors fade faster) and sun exposure can affect the rate that pigments break down. For best results, it is recommended that you follow aftercare instructions and have at least one touch-up yearly.  To perfect your brows it will require at a minimum of two sessions. Your first touch up is included in your initial fee as long as it is within 6 weeks of your first appointment.

Please note that everyone retains and breaks down pigment differently and final results cannot be guaranteed. Follow-up appointments are recommended at 4-6 weeks to assess and make any changes necessary.   Proper aftercare maintenance will help you put your best brow forward!
